Educational site support

  • Support for students from marginalized
    sections of society

Since 2009, KTCU has offered mentoring programs for middle and high school students in need and university students in 17 regions nationwide. Starting in 2019, KTCU has been offering tuition support for middle and high school students, payments for advancing to higher education, and presents on Children’s Day and Christmas to direct more attention to helping children and students in vulnerable environments.

  • Support for the funeral services of grandparent-headed families

The-K Yedaham Funeral Service, a KTCU subsidiary, offers funeral services and financial support for the funeral of the grandparents of elementary, middle, and high school students from financially challenged families.

  • Daddy-long-legs at hospital schools

KTCU hopes to support the medical expenses, etc. of students from at-risk families experiencing difficulties stemming from long-term hospital care and hospital treatment to make sure they can continue to grow and dream without being alienated from society.

Promoting confidence of future generations

  • Support for youth culture and art activities

This project supports cultural and artistic activities at childcare facilities, child protection facilities, and local children's centers in each region in which children and adolescents from families with poor access to cultural resources can participate. With this project, KTCU hopes to provide opportunities for children to enrich their emotional capacities and form healthy relationships with their peers via various cultural activities.

  • Support to bridge the learning gap

As a project to resolve the problem of educational inequality caused by differences in income, from 2020 to 2021, KTCU offered digital learning devices to underprivileged youths to help create an untact, remote learning environment, which has become more popular due to COVID-19. In 2022, KTCU plans to bridge the learning gap by providing support to strengthen the basic learning capabilities of students who are in the blind spots of the nation’s learning system.

  • Blue Lighthouse Scholarship

KTCU hopes to contribute to alleviating the financial burden of learning, and nurture talented individuals for the future by providing scholarships covering daily expenses for low-income university students who are enrolled in departments eligible for membership in KTCU, such as colleges of education, universities of education, educational universities, and nursing-related departments.

Supporting underprivileged groups to promote self-reliance

  • Support for literacy education

To provide underprivileged members of society passionate about learning with education opportunities, KTCU signed an agreement with the National Institute for Lifelong Education in 2014. Under this agreement, KTCU promotes literacy education and provides support for adult literacy education as well as night school programs.

  • The-K Charity Project

In order to provide timely support to various neighbors in need, KTCU donates to families in need of financial assistance during times of disaster or during the end-of-year and New Year holidays. Meanwhile, the CHARM Sharing Volunteer Group, an organization dedicated to social contribution activities within the company, participates in fulfilling the company's social responsibilities by carrying out various volunteer activities, such as delivering briquettes and Kimchi, and volunteering at free meal (lunch) stations.
